The Office of Minority Health and Health Equity is focused on providing support for health improvement initiatives for the purpose of eliminating or reducing health disparities and advancing health equity in Missouri.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in ensuring the statutory requirements of 192.083 RSMo are met.
  • Assist in providing support to health improvement initiatives for the purpose of eliminating or reducing health disparities and advancing health equity in Missouri.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to promote health equity and reduce health disparities among Missouri’s underserved populations.
  • Represent DHSS with other organizations, coalitions, committees, and groups working to promote health equity and reduce health disparities amongst Missouri’s minority populations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and materials designed to reduce the incidence of disease in minority, urban, rural, and underserved communities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Missouri Health Improvement Plan, State Health Assessment and the Division and Departmental strategic plans, when needed.
  • Assist in the department’s efforts towards obtaining and maintaining accreditation.
  • Prepare reports, action plans, timeliness, public presentations, and other written and oral communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
