DEFINITION: Under general supervision (GIS Analyst I) to direction (GIS Analyst II), provides professional support to the District’s GIS databases, database layers, and geographic information systems capabilities; utilizes GIS Tools and utilities to perform database quality checking and improvement processes; develops custom and standard applications, maps, spatial analyses and other GIS products; performs related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Administers CVWD’s Enterprise GIS and documents GIS standards; works with end users to identify GIS needs, and to recommend and implement GIS solutions; innovates new workflows to allow for automation and delegation of tasks; troubleshoots issues and incidents with GIS workflow processes and GIS user access/credentials.Creates, edits, enhances, and maintains GIS data, maps, web and other applications and collaborations with other groups and/or organizations; creates content, edits and updates existing content on GIS platforms to rectify data and schema changes, as well as workflow updates; cleans and edits data collected by field teams for display in maps and applications.Performs professional tasks in support of the District’s Enterprise GIS and applications; serves as a second and third level responder to user issues; reviews the Service Desk Queue to identify priorities; troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves user issues, or elevates to higher level staff or vendors.Conducts detailed analyses in response to requests for modifications to GIS or GIS applications; recommends, tests, and implements GIS solutions approved by management.Participates in the analysis and selection of new GIS tools, processes, and applications.Provides end-user support and training including instruction on the use of custom GIS applications, guidance on policies, procedures, methods, and techniques.Performs technical writing tasks; documents technical processes, troubleshooting guidelines, and end- user frequently asked questions about GIS database administration and quality assurance.Researches and understands current industry trends and recommends their use or adoption within the District.Serves as a member of a project team, or as a project lead under direction from management; performs QA/QC on analysis and deliverables produced using GIS tools and methods, certifies GIS contributions adhere to specifications and mandated regulations; ensures quality and timeliness of GIS contributions to the project. Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses and Certifications : Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment. Possession of a FAA part 107 certification for commercial drone license, to be maintained throughout
Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience providing professional support in the assigned technology area.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in geography, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
