As an Operations & Maintenance Technician IV - Mechanical performing Commercial Driver & Mechanic duties you will be responsible for transporting chemicals to Metropolitan facilities in addition to performing a wide range of mechanical work at Metropolitan's Chlorine Unloading Facility and Henry J. Mills Treatment Plant. Proficiency and recent experience as a Class A Commercial driver with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements in addition to journey level Mechanical proficiency is critical to your success in this position.

In addition to your highly critical driving responsibilities you will also perform mechanical activities in treatment including: inspecting, maintaining, and improving the reliability of equipment such as complex chlorine and various other chemical feed systems, chlorine trailer maintenance, ozone generators and related systems, flash mixers, flocculators, filter beds, geared drive equipment, sedimentation basins, tanks, valves, pumps, compressors, piping systems and slide gates, as well as processes such as chemical unloading transporting and transfer systems, reclamation systems, and sludge removal systems.

Schedule: 4/10, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate in addition to a minimum of 6 years in a mechanical maintenance position in a pump plant, treatment plant, hydroelectric or conveyance and distribution facility or similar environment.

OR

High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate in addition to the attainment of journey level skills through a recognized mechanical trade training program. Journey level experience as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in treatment or pump plants, conveyance and distribution, and/or power generation systems, and related apparatus.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class A Driver’s License or equivalent from your state of residency with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
