Job Description and DutiesThe Department of Justice, Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA) is looking for a Seasonal Clerk who can exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and professionalism in the performance of a variety of duties, providing light clerical and administrative assistance to DMFEA staff.
Under the supervision of Staff Services Manager I, the Seasonal Clerk will provide assistance to the Administration Branch as needed. The incumbent will also act as the front-desk receptionist, performing basic receptionist duties and providing clerical support to DMFEA staff members. Duties include but are not limited to entering and processing records using various computer software programs; typing, editing, and revising documents; alphabetizing and filing documents; scheduling appointments, meetings, and conference calls; scheduling and arranging conference rooms; setting up conference rooms; preparing for interviews, meetings, or other office functions; assisting with clerical and coordinating functions related to special reports, office events, and projects; answering a multi-line telephone; taking concise and detailed messages; directing visitors to appropriate staff or office; escorting vendors; and completing daily courier/mail sorting and distribution.

Seasonal Clerks, Student Assistants, and Graduate Student Assistants: Seasonal Clerks, Student Assistants, and Graduate Student Assistants are not allowed to work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year. The anticipated time worked will be 20 hours per week. If selected, the employee will receive an hourly compensation based on the number of hours worked.
