Job Description

As an Administrative Analyst you will be responsible for preparing the O&M budget monitoring, and monthly financial reporting for various Sections within the Water System Operations Group. Your budget responsibilities would include but are not limited to: creating O&M projects, tasks, and reimbursable projects; performing cost transfers; reviewing, quality checking and routing various business process requests for Section Managers such as Cellular Device Allowance, PCard, Air Card, Gas Card, etc for WSO management approval. You will also manage or report on OE approvals, or procurement as needed or requested. Your knowledge and experience with budgeting and financial analysis is critical to the success of this role.

Schedule: 9/80, 44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off

Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years relevant experience; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years relevant experience; or four years as a MWD Administrative Assistant III.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience in preparing reports and projections, analyzing financial data, and preparing and/or monitoring budgets

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
