Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

The Child Care Subsidy Program increases children's access to early learning by assisting eligible parents/guardians with payments for child care in Missouri. The purpose of this program is to not only ensure children have access to early childhood programs, but also to help families with the cost of child care so they are able to focus on finding and holding steady jobs and/or are able to attend school and training programs.

  • Review applications and determine child care providers meet initial/ongoing contract requirements.
  • Enter information in the state’s web-based child care data system used to process applications.
  • Ensure contracted child care providers meet health and safety requirements per state and federal requirements.
  • Respond in a timely manner to phone calls and emails from child care providers regarding their subsidy contracts.
  • Ensure provider applications are processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date and complete records of provider accounts and prepare reports or summaries as needed.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks with accuracy.
  • Collaborate with staff in the Office of Childhood on requirements related to contract terms and conditions, including subsidy payments, onsite monitoring visits, training, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with processing payment requests from child care providers as needed.
  • Assist with responding to email messages in shared Office of Childhood email accounts.
  • Assist with answering phone calls for the Subsidy section and other sections in the Office of Childhood, as needed.
  • Assist with administrative duties, as needed.
  • Maintain familiarity with child care subsidy policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or High School Equivalency.
  • One year of relevant work experience.
