Center for Behavioral Medicine (CBM), a modern 65 bed, Medicare Certified (CMS) and Joint Commission Accredited (TJC) Forensic Psychiatric Facility operated by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Health, provides inpatient psychiatric treatment to individuals adjudicated as Incompetent to Stand Trial or Permanently Incompetent to Stand Trial.

  • The successful candidate for this position will provide:

    Directs and supervise the work of the Psychology staff. Evaluates the psychology services in a multi-ward unit or program, Leadership, direction, planning, analysis and coordination of the Psychology Department. As an integral executive team member, the Director of Psychology will be responsible for strategic treatment initiatives, department staffing, fiscal accountability, and monitoring of psychology department standards, policies and procedures, and must possess the following;

    What you’ll do:

    • Direct and supervise the Inpatient Psychologists, Post-Doctorate Residents and Psychology Interns.
    • Coordinate and manage the assessment and treatment for the clients. To include managing the development and implementation of individual treatment plans; use of various treatment methods to assist in behavior modification; and written reports to assess the effectiveness of treatment with modifications of the treatment plan and diagnoses as necessary.
    • Develop system for timely and effective communication with the unit staff.
    • Work with the Psychology Team to resolve interdisciplinary team issues.
    • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, arrive to work on time, minimize unscheduled absences.
    • Working with hospital leadership to secure accreditation from TJC and certification from CMS/DHSS
    • Performance Improvement methodologies (preference will be given to those familiar with CQI Plus and Lean)
    • Effective strategies for the recruitment and retention of psychologist
    • Evidence Based Practice in the treatment and rehabilitation of clinical populations with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) as well as Intellectual Disabilities.


Requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Missouri.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience as a Psychologist.
  • Only regular non-probationary employees are eligible to bid. (Internal candidates only)
  • No disciplinary actions within the last twelve (12) months. (Internal candidates only)
