Monday - Thursday | 1 pm to 9:30 pm | Friday | 8:30 am to 5 pm
Starting Wage: $1,070 - $1,211/week depending on experience + Benefits


Duluth Public Schools is currently seeking a Community School Building/Program Coordinator with the Community Education Department. This position plans, develops and implements and administers a comprehensive community education program including lifelong learning and recreational opportunities for youth through adult populations including adults with disabilities, as well as the procedures and systems necessary to accommodate use of school facilities by District staff and the public.

Summary:
Duluth Public Schools is seeking an individual who plans, develops, implements and administers a comprehensive community education program for school, neighborhood and a diverse District-wide population, including lifelong learning and recreational opportunities for youth through adult populations. Evaluates program, assesses community needs and identifies community resources.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordination of community learning and recreational programs youth through adults, including adults with disabilities
  • Maximizing Public Use of Facilities
  • Leadership and collaboration with community individuals, groups and organizations.
  • Special projects and initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in education, parks and recreation or related field,
  • At least one year of experience in program development and administration of enrichment and recreation programs for adults and adults with disabilities,
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in closely related field and/or evidence of community education experience in enrichment and recreation programming; working with programs for adults with disabilities.
Certification or Licensing Requirements:
  • Director of Community Education Licensure (desired)
