What You'll Be Doing

Wake County Health and Human Services is looking for an Accreditation and Quality Assurance Consultant to join the team!

The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Consultant works with division directors and other staff to ensure quality services to consumers and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities will require use of technology for communication, organization of information and management of workflow.

The primary responsibilities are:
  • Serve as the Agency Accreditation Coordinator (AAC) for divisions and departments providing services and support of public health functions
  • Establish and maintain an ongoing process to collect and compile evidence files for public health accreditation
  • Ensure members of the accreditation work group receive training on their assigned responsibilities, resources and materials available and use of the data collection process
  • Serve as liaison with state DHHS and NCLHDA Board, receiving updates about changes to regulations and procedures and communicate to appropriate staff, providing assistance with interpretation of regulations as needed
  • Direct the process of initiation, development, annual review, approval, publication and notification of all WCHHS protocols (policies, standards, processes, procedures and guidelines) including those amended and rescinded
  • Manage the electronic DHS Protocol Approval database
  • Train staff in the development of protocols and the use of the database
  • Evaluate submitted protocols for compliance with standards and provide feedback and guidance in the completion of accurate protocols
  • Promote and support quality improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a co-leader of the WCHHS Public Health Quality Management Team (PHQMT) promoting best practice models. Maintain documentation of quality improvement initiatives and produce reports periodically and as requested by senior management

NOTE: This position actively supports and participates in department emergency preparedness and response activities, which may include temporary changes in responsibilities and working hours. Influenza immunization is a condition of initial and continued employment, subject to compliance with federal law.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of experience in project management development or program leadership
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in public health accreditation coordination
  • Certification in Quality Management

  • Review and analyze information to prepare written reports and verbal presentations to management
  • Review and edit policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
  • Conduct staff training related to creating and processing documents for meeting quality standards
  • Organize, lead and monitor projects involving staff from multiple teams
  • Demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, managing rapid change and trying different approaches to deal with uncharted territories
  • Taking proactive action assessing requirements, creating recommendations and action plans
  • Provide high-quality customer service

Market Range: 54,769.00 - 93,110.00
