Job Description and Duties

Are you a strong, motivated analyst with a desire to join the Department of Justice (DOJ)? If so, the Executive Unit of the Public Rights Division (PRD) is looking for you!

We are seeking a Staff Services Analyst with excellent communication and organizational skills, and who is passionate about human resources and the impact it has on our workforce. In this role, you will serve as a Personnel Liaison between the DOJ’s Division of Operations (OPS) and a voluminous roster of PRD professionals, and will provide consultative support to division and section management on hiring and human resources matters. This includes, but is not limited to, researching, interpreting, and explaining best hiring practices, civil service statutes, regulations, and policies, while ensuring overall compliance with the California Department of Human Resources’ and DOJ Office of Human Resources’ (OHR) regulations and policies. On the daily, you will provide consultation services on items such as justification packages, classification and pay, civil service testing, position and vacancy tracking, and position funding, and will provide management and the OHR with alternatives and recommendations on such topics. You will also be responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate organizational charts and will collaborate with other units on hiring and general onboarding functions. As a member of the Executive Unit, you will learn how to think strategically and proactively about staffing and a wide variety of critical hiring support functions.
