Job Location: This position will be located Statewide. This position will be located at the determination of the applicant selected. Location is flexible and will be determined by space available and location of the selected candidate. Frequent travel to Jefferson City maybe required.

As a Public Health Program Specialist for the Missouri WIC Program, you will be directly involved in providing technical assistance and support to 117 WIC local agencies in the state and more specifically, to 28 local agencies in northeast Missouri. Indirectly, you will be an integral part of ensuring the well-being of Missouri's children, making a difference for those in need! What you'll do:

  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to 28 assigned WIC local agencies in northeast Missouri.
  • Conduct approximately 15 assigned local agency on-site management evaluations yearly to ensure WIC program compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, and the WIC local agency scope of work.
  • Review and approve Corrective Action Plans (CAP) and CAP Progress reports when findings are identified during a management evaluation.
  • Review and exercise approval authority for purchases and expenses for annual local agency plans (LAPs).
  • Assess program compliance and effectiveness through review of data from Crystal Reports.
  • Utilize the Missouri WIC Information Network System (MOWINS) to analyze compliance with the WIC program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A valid drivers license.
