Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Procurement Services Division, located at 414 E 12th St.
Salary Range: $20.48-$30.71/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Responsibilities
- Assists in planning, coordinating and overseeing the central procurement activities of the City.
- Assists in consolidating the needs of the various departments by standardizing supplies, materials and equipment.
- Assists with the development and installation of improved clerical practices in stores methods and procedures.
- Confers with vendors and their representatives concerning their products and discussing materials, equipment, supplies, services, prices, trade and cash discounts.
- Assists in the preparation of proposals and specifications and verifies commodities and services against purchases orders and contracts awarded to vendors.
- Prepares and presents recommendations on purchases.
- Answers special correspondence on procurement matters and handles special assignments and problems arising within the division.
- May act as a lead worker.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Associate's degree and 2 years progressively responsible procurement experience in procurement activities; OR high school graduation and 4 years of experience in procurement activities.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
