Job Description

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is looking to hire a Principal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Analyst. This position reports to the EEO Manager.

The Principal EEO Analyst will design and execute special projects and strategies for increasing representation of protected class employees to meet Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action/Non-Discrimination Plan objectives, per federal and state requirements. The Principal EEO Analyst will prepare a variety of statistical and narrative reports as may be required for government reporting and internal monitoring of the progress of various Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action/Non-Discrimination efforts and programs. This individual will also provide expert technical advice, guidance and training to managers, supervisors and employees on Equal Employment Opportunity law and principles.

Occasional travel may be required to other facilities which may require overnight stay.

This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information.

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday with every other Friday off

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and eight years relevant experience, two of which must include experience conducting investigations into complaints and/or charges of discrimination, unlawful workplace harassment or retaliation and four of which includes professional experience working in the area of equal employment opportunity or affirmative action;

OR an advanced degree in a related field and six years relevant experience two of which must include experience conducting investigations into complaints and/or charges of discrimination, unlawful workplace harassment or retaliation and four of which includes professional experience working in the area of equal employment opportunity.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience assessing EEO or other recruitment/Civil Rights related complaints, identifying areas of concern, and recommending solutions.
