Children in Wake County are in need of your support to ensure access to the resources they need to live happy and healthy lives. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, caring and professional Program Assistant (Hybrid position) to provide support, through the provisions of initial case management functions and the performance of administrative duties.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Processing paper and electronic applications, to include the review of applications for the initial determination of necessary child support services
  • Researching legal documents to include birth and marriage records, public assistance status, and demographic information of the case participants
  • Preparing private child support cases requesting IV-D child support services
  • Completing financial adjustments based on electronic referrals from Medicaid, Work First, and Foster Care
  • Utilizing Onbase and the Automated Collections & Tracking System (ACTS)

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Associate's degree
  • One year of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Human Services and/or Child Support experience
  • Experience in case management (i.e., WorkFirst & Medicaid)
  • Experience working with the Administrative Office of the Courts
  • Experience with Hyland OnBase and/or other document management system


How Will We Know You're 'The One'?

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing Child Support Programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency working in ACTS, NCFAST, XPTR, VCAP, PRIME, WIRM, SMART and Data Warehouse systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The Ability to identify problems, determining possible solutions, and actively work to resolve the issue

Hiring Range: 18.20 - 24.33

Emergency Service Worker Statement
