Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) independently performs the full range of procurement activities for the Division of Law Enforcement (DLE), Office of the Chief (OC), for both IT and non-IT goods and services. The AGPA is responsible for managing varied and complex technical assignments for the division, which require multi-disciplinary skills, including knowledge of various codes, policies, and procedures. The AGPA possesses the subject matter expertise necessary to analyze expenditures, ensure funding is allocated appropriately based on projected purchases, and makes recommendations to division staff regarding purchasing and contracting options and requirements. Acts as division’s liaison and representative with Division of Operations (OPS), Accounting Office and Contracts and Procurement Unit (CPU); California Justice Information Services Division, IT Contracts and Procurement Section; Department of General Services (DGS) and other control agencies. Conducts training for new procurement analysts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required in conjunction with these activities. The AGPA may be required to work overtime, as needed, depending on current workload and special assignments.

DOJ has adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position may allow for a hybrid in office and telework opportunity, upon supervisor approval. All telework schedules are based on current workload conditions and may be re-evaluated as conditions change.
