RoleUnder general supervision, provides a variety of complex and confidential legal and administrative tasks in support of an appointed judge, commissioner and/or other appointed judicial officers. Undertakes and performs office management tasks associated with the operation, functions, and coordination of the work of a judicial division.
Major Duties, Responsibilities- Coordinates, prepares, and distributes weekly calendars for specified courts; transmits cases between specified courts, maintains caseload statistics, and communicates with justice partners regarding court matters.
- Arranges, schedules, coordinates, and provides coverage for specific court divisions.
- Recommends, assists, and provides requested training for staff for specific court divisions.
- Assists with the hiring and training of specified staff.
- Schedules and conducts meetings with specified staff to determine issues, concerns, or areas of improvement.
- Ensures data accuracy, prepares reports, and audits the work of specified staff.
- Provides feedback to the supervisor regarding specified staff performance.
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements changes to work methods and procedures to increase efficiency.
- Creates resources and develops training materials for specific court divisions.
- Attends committee meetings with department administration.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of administrative, legal office or court services support experience.
Additional Requirements:Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
Must complete annual training as required by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET).

- Type at a minimum of sixty (60) WPM.
- Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
- Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
- Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion.
- Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Work Environment:The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
Physical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
