The City of Chandler Police Department, Operational Support Division is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Dispatch Supervisor. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a varied work schedule to include day, swing, and night shifts.

The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 362 sworn officers and 177 civilians, serves a growing population of close to 287,945 residents. The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. Minimum qualifications
  • Must possess a High School or GED equivalency.
  • Must have 3 years experience as a public safety dispatcher or equivalent position for a public safety agency; and
  • Must possess a DPS Terminal Operator Level A upon hire or promotion; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
  • At least 1 year of trainer or supervisory experience.
Supervision
Work is performed under the supervision of the Police Communications Manager. This position exercises supervision over a shift of Dispatchers, Emergency Call Takers, and clerical or administrative personnel.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a varied work schedule to include day, swing, and night shifts. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
