TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: On a weekly basis, an employee shall travel a minimum of 10% within the assigned service counties to conduct outreach to community-based organizations, as needed. This will generally consist of day travel with occasional overnight travel. Must have a valid Missouri Driver’s license.

Main Purpose/Focus of the Position: To supervise local office operation, staff, and customer service within the Job Center, and serve as a working Supervisor to provide services directly to Job Center customers.

  • Responsible for the local office operation, staff, and customer service within the local one-stop delivery system
  • Plan, organize, and supervise work of the office to meet goals and objectives of the Office and Department as outlined by the Strategic Plan
  • Conduct regional outreach activities to locate job seekers and employers through contacts with local resource providers, as needed
  • Promote Job Center services opportunities, and benefits and features of such, to customers and prospective customers based on customer needs and goals and services eligibility requirements
  • Encourage a team concept among staff, and ensure a high standard of cooperation, collaboration and communication with Job Center staff and partners
  • Supervise re-employment services for all programs and assist in meeting performance standards
  • Provide on-going review and evaluation of employees giving appropriate feedback and counseling or recommendations
  • Provide guidance and appropriate training to ensure employees have an opportunity to perform work at their expected competency level
  • Monitor and manage staff schedules, attendance, and time reporting in coordination with one-stop management
  • Plan, hold, and participate in weekly staff meetings; provide updates and information to staff as needed
  • Attend quarterly regional supervisory meetings as well as other meetings and conferences as directed
  • Review Office of Workforce Development and Job Center reports; relay appropriate information to Job Center staff
  • Ensure required reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Provide information, ideas, and suggestions to management to improve office functions and productivity
  • Advise management at once of changing conditions requiring review and suggest possible corrective action
  • Consult with program supervisors on special problems and new policies and procedures
  • Implement and adapt operating procedures to local area needs and develop supplemental policies, as necessary, in coordination with one-stop management
  • Ensure proper use of government property and funds, as a public trust
  • Promote the mission and vision of the Office of Workforce Development
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Perform other related work as assigned
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance


  • Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in business, personnel or public administration or closely related area, including military service
