Job Location: This position will be located at Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W. High Street Suite 430, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

The Division of Personnel is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Human Resources (HR) team! This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to work with HR professionals committed to promoting a quality team member experience and serving our department’s workforce.

  • Provide leadership and supervision to professional HR team members.
  • Support team members in handling employee relations cases, guiding supervisors, responding to accommodation requests, producing a variety of reports, and addressing payroll funding matters.
  • Participate in HR investigations.
  • Administer Performance Improvement Plans and disciplinary actions, including dismissals.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret administrative policies.
  • Develop and present trainings to the OA workforce.
  • Collaborate closely with legal staff, OA leadership, and other partners.
  • Remain current on employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Serve as point of contact during the HR Director’s absences.
  • Complete a variety of special assignments.
  • Perform assignments needed to support the HR team.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Successful autonomous employee relations experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to delegate work.
  • Knowledge of OA’s organizational structure and workforce.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to be professional, positive, and productive.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to collaborate.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Time-management skills with the ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Adobe products.
