We are looking for a positive and energetic Administrative Support Clerk in our Dietary department who has an interest in helping children with mental illness maximize their potential.

Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital uses the Sanctuary Model to guide our interactions with our teammates and the care we provide to our consumers in order to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence. This is accomplished by following the Foundation of Sanctuary - The Four Pillars of (1) Trauma Theory, (2) Seven Commitments, (3) S.E.L.F. (Safety, Emotion, Loss, and Future), (4) Sanctuary Tool Kit.

  • Inputs all dietary vendor invoices into the computer
  • Collects and tracks required data on School Breakfast, Lunch and Snack participation, Employee Cafeteria Sales, Dietary Requisitions and Quality Management records for refrigerator and food temperature logs
  • Updates and prints the daily Diet Slip Summary, writes the menu board legibly and checks client trays in the cafeteria to verify they receive a qualifying school lunch
  • Files client dietary records, write production sheets, types, makes copies, faxes and scans as needed and ordering office supplies
  • Communicate with staff and clients for the annual Food Service Survey as well as relaying messages received during lunch
  • Additional duties as required


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of general office practices
  • Ability to maintain clerical records, operate basic office equipment, and interact on the telephone or in person
  • Must be well organized, able to successfully manage work priorities, and must possess proficient writing and professional communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience
