What You'll Be Doing

Budget and Management Services (BMS) is recruiting for a performance role. Solid applicants will be expert problem solvers and communicators, ready to dive into performance measures, business planning and program evaluation.

The Performance Consultant will collaborate with budget analysts and departments to develop, analyze and evaluate County long term plans and performance measures; lead and serve on countywide special projects; and help effectively communicate information throughout the organization. The role will involve a high level of responsibility, expertise and leadership for organization-wide analyses and projects.

Responsibilities of the Performance Consultant include:
  • Collaborate with departments to develop, validate and analyze performance and outcome measures
  • Consult with departments in partnership with budget and management analysts to use performance and outcome measures to develop strategic initiatives to achieve department and county strategic plan outcomes
  • Collaborate with department contacts to align department business plans with the County’s overall strategic plan
  • Facilitate status and decision meetings with department and County Leadership to discuss initiatives and outcomes in support of organizational decision-making
  • Collaborate with department leadership to assess departmental programs and impact
  • Grow the organization's culture of performance through training, coaching and group facilitation
  • Communicate county-wide performance management by leveraging performance application, reports and business plans to drive transparency and accountability
  • Cultivate solid relationships with key stakeholders and departments to understand their needs and collaborate effectively

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business management, public policy or related field
  • Four years of professional, full-time experience in operations, business analysis/evaluation or project management
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy or Business Administration
  • Experience in local government service operations

Hiring Range: 72,051 - 100,874

Market Range: 72,051.00 - 129,698.00
