Essential Duties: Repairs and replaces asphalt and concrete; operates a variety of equipment, such as skip loader, jack hammer, concrete saw, compactors, and other related power equipment. Drives and operates a vibrating roller, skip loader, dump truck, or other related equipment in transporting dirt, sand, debris, construction materials, road sweepings, and other materials. Performs hand cleaning,maintenance work, and heavy manual labor.

- One (1) year of experience in the operation of light and medium duty vehicles such as: dump trucks, water trucks, commercial delivery vehicles, small tractors, small loaders, light construction equipment, etc.
- Possession of a valid Class "C" California driver's license (a Class "B" California driver's license must be obtained within the 6-month probationary period
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

VACATION: Accrual rate is determined by bargaining unit.
1-4 years of service: 10 days per year.
5-13 years of service: 15 days per year.
14+ years of service: 20 days per year.
VACATION - FIRE SAFETY SHIFT PERSONNEL ONLY:
1-4 years of service: 4.68 (24-hr. duty shifts)
5-15 years of service: 7.02 (24-hr. duty shifts)
16+ years of service: 9.36 (24-hr. duty shifts)
HOLIDAYS: 13 paid holidays per year.
SICK LEAVE: Earned at the rate of one working day per month of service to a maximum of 120 days; portions therafter may be convertible.
ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE: 10 days per year for General Supervisory and Management employees.
