Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of a Deputy Attorney General Supervisor in the Environment Section. May receive direction from Deputy Attorney General Supervisors and Deputy Attorney Generals for specific case tasks and assignments. These tasks include, but are not limited to: analyzing files, facts and documents, summarizing and organizing data and information, using computerized litigation support software, compiling data and gathering information, preparing legal documents, assisting with trial preparation, legal research, handling complaint intake from the public, acting as Case Coordinator for ProLaw, assisting in maintaining section files, logs and statistics and assisting with section administrative matters.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Applicants should have demonstrated strong analytical and paralegal skills. Familiarity with legal concepts and procedures is highly desirable. Experience with electronic discovery software, Relativity, CaseMap, Trial Director, Power Point, Word and Excel is highly desirable, as are relevant linguistic skills and experience in investigations and complex litigation. The applicant should possess the ability to work independently or in a team setting, take initiative, assume high level responsibility, and exercise good judgment. Good verbal and written communication skills are critical.
