Job Description

The Cybersecurity Analyst II is responsible for collaborating with County IT to identify, prioritize and remediate risk to department technology resources. Responsible for planning, providing guidance, and implementing security measures to protect computer systems and networks. Work directly with staff to protect information assets and systems and against potential threats and vulnerabilities. Manage systems and process that protect information assets and systems against issues that could impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. Provide cyber security support, identification, analysis, issue resolution, and implementation and integration of cybersecurity solutions.

Description:
  • Monitor, evaluate and maintain systems and procedures to protect the data systems and databases from unauthorized access. Assess threat and vulnerability information. Recommend security improvements of configuration changes to enhance security. Recommend improvements to maintain appropriate application security. Provide recommendations and support implementation of standards for systems and services.
  • Identify cybersecurity incidents and events within the department and collaborate with County IT to respond to cyber security events to mitigate risk or unauthorized access. Assist with the development, maintenance, and implementation of department cybersecurity incident response plans. Provide solutions to a variety of cybersecurity technical problems.
  • Assist with required auditing and assessment functions for compliance needs. Keep current on security technology and security news, researching new technologies and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of department cyber security policy, procedures and standards that are aligned with county. Compile metrics for information security to allow for trending to assist in reviews of current processes, identify awareness needs, and facilitate measurement for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct frequent testing of simulated cyber-attacks to look for vulnerabilities in the systems and take action to mitigate possible threats. Assist with providing security awareness training and promoting security awareness.
