Job Location: This position can be remote with regular travel required to Jefferson City, MO.

The Child Care Subsidy Program increases children's access to early learning by assisting eligible parents/guardians with payments for child care in Missouri. The purpose of this program is to not only ensure children have access to early childhood programs, but also to help families with the cost of child care so they are able to focus on finding and holding steady jobs and/or are able to attend school and training programs.

  • Draft policies and procedures for investigations related to families receiving child care assistance.
  • Receive and research reports of suspected fraud related to child care assistance.
  • Interview and prepare statements from families receiving child care assistance.
  • Prepare detailed reports of investigative findings.
  • Draft and review communications to child care families regarding noncompliance.
  • Manage and track the status and outcomes of investigations.
  • Testify in administrative proceedings, if needed.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of the implementation of investigation procedures.
  • Provide training for the Child Care Subsidy section on investigation policies and procedures.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities related to the child care subsidy program.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator with research related to child care subsidy activities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of policies and procedures related to the Child Care Subsidy section.
  • Assist with the analysis of subsidy-related data.
  • Assist the Child Care Subsidy section with reviewing and processing reports of overpayment, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal and state requirements related to the child care subsidy program.
  • Ability to communicate and express ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department staff and other state and local agencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in English, political science, education, business, social/human services, or other related area.


OR

  • Four or more years of professional or technical experience in a related area, or other experience that contributes directly to the understanding of activities of this assignment.
