The Missouri Department of Agriculture's, Device & Commodity Inspection Program inspects large and small scales, grain hopper scales, taxicab meters, milk for quantity determination, prepackaged merchandise and method of sale of commodities. The program enforces the Missouri Egg Law and the Missouri Unfair Milk Sales Practices Act.

We are looking for a candidate that can work independently, handle multiple tasks, and help with special projects to improve efficiencies within the program.   • Answer questions from the public on the various aspects of the program. This includes by phone, email, and mail.
  • Entering and reconciling payments for egg licenses, milk licenses, and scale inspections.
  • Support inspection staff with solving issues that arise in their day-to-day tasks. To include helping resolve computer related issues, ordering supplies, and problems related to payments, and invoicing.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
  • Assist in special projects to improve program efficiencies and goal tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an Administrative Support Assistant AND possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

    OR

    Two (2) or more years of full-time training from an accredited vocational or business school in office management, secretarial science, or a closely related field AND one (1) or more years of office-related clerical experience and possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
