The City of Kingman is seeking an individual to fill an Information Technology Coordinator position. The ideal team member should be able to demonstrate their cap abilities to perform administrative and technical duties to support the City’s computer, network and phone platforms. OVERVIEW
The City of Kingman is located in Mohave County approximately 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas and 195 miles northwest of Phoenix nestled between the beautiful Cerbat and Hualapai Mountain Ranges along historic Route 66. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under general direction, performs administrative and technical duties ensuring the proper functioning of related technology for the City’s computer, network, and phone platforms.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under general supervision of the Information Technology Asst. Director.

Minimum Qualifications/Special Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in computer science, information systems or a closely related field plus
  • Two (2) years of responsible computer systems, systems analysis, network management, or related experience;
  • Any combination of education, experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.

KNOWLEDGE

Working knowledge of modern and complex practices of computer systems; Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems; Windows networking; Web based applications; Website creation and maintenance; Voice over IP (VoIP) administration and troubleshooting.

SKILLS

Skill in operation of the listed tools and equipment; Analyzing hardware and software malfunctions and determining effective solutions; Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands; Following and effectively communicating technically complex instructions.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain efficient and effective automated systems; Coordinate or install software and hardware upgrades; Perform complex arithmetic computations accurately and quickly; Establish, maintain and foster effective working relationships with users, co-workers, vendors and supervisors in a highly technical environment; Communicate effectively orally and in writing; Work under pressure and/or frequent interruptions; Analyze customer needs and systems accurately and logically and implement improvements; Communicate with and instruct others using technical and non-technical language to explain complex subjects and processes; Observe and adhere to proper safety precautions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Current CompTIA A+ certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months

  • Provides effective service, training, and technical support to users in day-to-day operations; Coordinates activities with other divisions and outside agencies.
  • Installs, repairs, and provides assistance with computer systems; diagnoses hardware and software configuration issues; installs hardware and software upgrades.
  • Installs, repairs, and provides assistance with VoIP telephone system and components.
  • Performs administrative duties by taking inventory of hardware and software and purchasing computer supplies.
  • Performs security administration by creating and maintaining user accounts on the network, and storing and retrieving electronic data.
  • Records various meetings for broadcast on City cable channel and digital distribution; Performs maintenance and upgrades of recording and broadcast equipment.
  • Prepares specifications for materials and equipment.
  • Maintains professional and effective working relationships by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
  • May be required to adjust work schedule to be present early mornings, evenings, nights, holidays or weekends as needed and be on-call to respond to urgent matters.
  • Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies and procedures; follows safety policies and practices, works in a safe manner, and reports unsafe activity and conditions.
