PASSPORT ACCEPTANCE AGENT to join their team. This position p erforms complex para-professional work in support of the execution of programs and services in assigned specialty area for the Missoula Public Library (MPL).

Representative Examples of WorkProcesses passport applications and takes passport photos following the procedures established by the U.S. Department of State. Answers incoming phone calls and greets walk-in patrons. Provides general information to the public, answers questions, provides specific information about passport issues. Contacts applicants to request necessary documents. Ensures appointments are scheduled. Responsible for the financial transactions needed for processing passport applications, issues customer receipts. Acts as an acceptance agent for the U.S. Department of State processing passport applications, checking documentation, verifying identity, swearing in applicants, and collecting fees. Prepares transmittal documents for passports, applications, and payment for delivery to the U.S. Department of State. Identifies and takes initiative to report trends or patterns in the volume or nature of inquiries handled.
Minimum Qualifications- Requires high school diploma or GED.
- Requires one year of customer service experience.
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Requires ability to obtain certification as a Passport Acceptance Agent within 30 days of hire.
Physical/Environmental DemandsNormal work week is Sunday through Saturday; some evening hours will be required. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time. Requires bending, lifting, reaching, pushing/pulling wheeled carts (up to 30 to 40 pounds exerted force) and moving boxes of materials (up to 50 pounds in weight). Assignment to Mobile Branch may involve work in crowded, small space.

Excellent Medical Health Benefits– Group health benefits, including dental and vision coverage, are available to eligible County employees. The medical health benefits premium is covered for full-time employees. The County contribution is pro-rated on hours paid for part-time employees. The employee pays the premium portion for dependent coverage. Family health benefits coverage is $258.00 per pay period.
Medical deductible is $500 for an individual and $1,000 for a family.

Public Employees Retirement System– Montana public employees of the state, university system, local governments and certain employees of school districts are covered by the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). Sheriffs' Retirement System (SRS)– A public pension plan for all Montana Sheriffs hired after July 1, 1974 and Detention Officers hired after July 1, 2005.

Sick Leave– Full-time employees accrue 7.38hours per month and are eligible to use sick leave once you have been an employee for 90 days.The accrual is pro-rated for part-time employees.
Vacation Leave– Full-time employees accrue 9.24 hours per month and are eligible to use leave after continuous employment for a period of 6 full months. The accrual is pro-rated for part-time employees.
Holidays– The County observes eleven legal holidays in even numbered years and ten legal holidays in odd numbered years.
Paid Parental Leave (PPL)-In recognition of the importance of bonding and care of a newborn child or a child placed for adoption, Missoula County 6 continuous weeks of PPL to eligible full-time employees that have been with the county for 180 days. The hours are pro-rated for part-time employees.
