DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Assistant Civil Engineer This is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series not requiring registration. Equivalent to those typically gained by: Assistant Engineer - A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 0-2 years engineering experience. Associate Engineer - A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 2-4 years of progressive engineering experience. Professional Engineer - Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri with at least four full years of satisfactory engineering experience, as required for licensure.
