Nature of Work:

Performs advanced professional transportation planning. Serves as a senior non-supervisory professional and technical person within a functional planning section with a focus on bikes and pedestrian projects management as well as micro-mobility. Coordinates and participates in the preparation and production of plans and projects addressing the bicycle and pedestrian needs of the City. Projects include roadway or corridor design and construction projects as well as long-range transportation planning projects and analysis. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Transportation Planning Division Manager and performance is reviewed through conferences and results obtained.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field and six (6) years urban planning or related experience required;

Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in any field, combined with AICP certification, and six (6) years of experience in urban planning or a related field required;

Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Valid Florida Driver's License required within the time limit set by the hiring department.

A Master’s Degree in a related field is desired, along with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in urban planning or a related field preferred.

Experience with CAD, GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable design software is preferred.

AIA, ASLA, or AICP Certification is preferred.

Experience in project management, traffic studies, traffic analysis, and transportation simulations may be preferred, depending on the position.
