Job Description

Current openings are in the Health and Human Services Agency's (HHSA) Revenue & Budget Manager for the Financial and Support Services Division.

  • Revenue and Budget Manager Agency Budget Office

As a Revenue & Budget Manager for the FSSD, Agency Budget Office, of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), you will provide oversight of agencywide budgetary operations with annual appropriations of over $3.2 billion.  This includes financial management/ analysis, direction of budget preparation and ongoing monitoring through fund balance activities, financial forecasting, and revenue analysis specific to health and social services activities. This class supervises professional staff.

  • Revenue and Budget Manager, Fiscal Services

As a Revenue & Budget Manager for the FSSD, Fiscal Services, of HHSA, you will provide oversight of agencywide fiscal operations with annual appropriations of over $3.2 billion.   This includes financial and accounting administration of various health and social services through management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Claims and Cost Reports, Financial Reporting and Audits oversight, overall financial planning and analysis, interpretation of State and federal laws, knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and managing teams. This class supervises professional staff and para professional staff.

HIRING TIMELINE AND DATES

The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below. Please note that dates are approximate and are dependent upon the successful completion of each step of the process.

  • Job Offer and Background Process begins July 15, 2024

  • Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.

  • Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of background or other mutually agreed upon date

The candidate will often need to work on new projects that do not yet have established procedures in place. The candidate will need to be able to bring diverse teams of Fiscal, Budget, and Program staff together to implement new processes as well as improve and streamline existing processes. The candidate should be very comfortable working with Senior Managers and Executive staff as well as communicating effectively with all levels of staff. The candidate should be familiar with the principles of government finance, have experience with health and human services funding streams, and experience supervising finance teams.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. four (4) year college or university with a major in accounting, business, public administration, or a closely related field, AND five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting/analytical experience in a local government. Specialized training in economics, statistics, or problem solving is highly desirable.
