Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

The purpose of the Family and Children’s Medicaid Quality Assurance (QA) Reviewer is to conduct compliance audits and communicate quality information to staff in Economic Services (ES) Programs. The Quality Assurance Reviewer provides support to the Family and Children’s Medicaid program. The QA Reviewer partners with Economic Services training staff, systems support staff, works with management, and supervisory staff to discuss findings and develop corrective action plans.

Essential job functions and responsibilities include:

  • Planning and leading quality reviews for Family and Children’s Medicaid cases
  • Keeping abreast of policy changes and communicating them as necessary to Economic Services staff
  • Assisting with answering policy questions from Economic Services staff and communicating with state reps on policy clarifications
  • Gathering information, analyzing trends and reporting information to Economic Services management, supervisory staff, and members of the program staff development team
  • Lead or assist with the development of policy review meetings, newsletters, checklists, job aids, and other materials to help staff become more proficient in their policy and NCFAST knowledge
  • Assisting with the preparation of materials for external monitoring
  • Lead or assist with development, improvement, and training of our quality assurance monitoring tools

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted


Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Two (2) years or more of experience processing and auditing Family and Children’s Medicaid cases in NC FAST
  • 91% or higher quality review average score
  • Demonstrated experience coaching co-workers/employees to provide error-free work
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with using technology including Excel and Donesafe System
