This position is eligible for a Tiered Sign-on Bonus up to $5,000 What You'll Be Doing Wake County General Services is looking for a Security Trades Specialist to join the Safety and Security Division. The Security Trades Specialist will be responsible for conducting after hours testing of the Electronic Security System for Wake County while providing second shift support for security operations. Support will include supervising second shift contracted security staff, conducting investigations, video review, security report review and compiling security system data. Primary Duties: Conduct field tests of Electronic Security System equipment monitored by the Security Operations Center within County owned and leased facilities Maintain test results of all equipment, report results and submit work orders for any items that are not working properly Assist with the operation and management of the video management system Support investigation process by conducting interviews, reviewing security reports and viewing video Provide initial response and basic troubleshooting support for electronic security system after-hours maintenance calls Review and recommend updates to operational procedures for contracted second shift security staff Assist with Access Control System, ensuring proper access control levels, ID Badge production and adherence to Wake County Policies and Procedures Respond to second shift emergencies and observe, report and assist Follow guidelines or instructions pertaining to resolution of emergency, communicate critical information and coordinate necessary resources Support GSA as part of 2nd shift support team Note: A background and credit check will be conducted. The Basics (Required Education and Experience) High School diploma or GED Three years experience in security Equivalent education and experience are accepted Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume. Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) Five Years of experience in the Security Industry Three years of supervisory experience Five years of experience with Security Management Systems and Video Management Systems How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
