NATURE OF WORK:

Performs responsible public contact work involving the scheduling of park activities and the enforcement of park rules and regulations to ensure City parks are clean and safe. An incumbent assigned to this classification: provides routine information to tourists and the general public, patrols park and performs frequent inspection to ensure vandalism and safety hazards are prevented, prepares daily reports on park conditions, repairs, park attendance and incidences involving accidents or injury . Work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks Administration. Performance is reviewed through evaluation of inspection reports, condition of park, direct observation and results obtained. Work is performed primarily outdoors and employee may be subject to extreme weather conditions and insects. Work also involves: nearly constant walking and patrolling of city parks, wildlife observation, protection and care as needed.

Minimum Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent required, plus two (2) years experience in public-contact work, preferably involving security, enforcement, and customer-service duties required. Interest in and knowledge of City park facilities helpful. Florida driver license required. Must pass background check and polygraph examination.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PROVIDED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT.
