We are accepting applications for the position of Sanitation Driver Operator in the Sanitation Department.
Examples of Work: - Drives and operates garbage trucks/recycle trucks on designated routes and acts as a lead person to other employees while ensuring their safety.
- Drives and operates knuckle boom loader for the collection and removal of limbs, yard debris and other trash in a safe manner.
- Drives flatbed truck for the collection and removal of land fill and bulk item trash.
- Assembles and delivers new garbage cans and recycling bins.
Starting annual salary is $35,586 with excellent benefits including paid health, dental, and life insurance, retirement through State of Alabama Retirement Systems, disability income coverage, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave and annual merit raises. Successful applicant must pass both a drug test and a background check, which includes driving record and criminal history. Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of experience in a job related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Qualifications: MUST HAVE a Valid Class A or B CDL Driver’s License.
Physical Demands: - Medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
