The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Management Assistant this is a full-time regular position with benefits. The position is generally scheduled to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, including flexed hours for monthly board meetings, subcommittee meetings, and occasional special events.

The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department showcases destination drivers, including Chandler Center for the Arts (CCA), Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, and Vision Gallery. The CCA is a welcoming, vibrant community space with the purpose of elevating our diverse community and creating enriching experiences. The CCA is collaboratively shared by three distinct entities - the City of Chandler, the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD), and the Chandler Cultural Foundation. With three performance spaces, the CCA presents approximately 40 international and regional performances annually while also serving as a vital arts space for CUSD students and community events. Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone who likes to work in a creative, strategic, goal-driven environment with experience in confidential administrative tasks, research and responding to escalated requests from board members, city management office and other city divisions/departments, compiling information and preparing reports and presentations, assisting with budget preparation. Completes, plans, and implements special projects and divisional events, maintains calendar for organizational leadership, leader of e-agenda collections for multiple board and subcommittees.

Minimum qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; and
  • 4 years of progressively responsible experience providing complex administrative support and management assistance, preferably working in a similar role and department; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
  • Experience providing administrative support for board meetings including scheduling, room set up, eAgenda process, attending meetings and crafting meeting minutes.
  • Basic knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Basic knowledge of budget preparation including familiarity with budget software (e.g. Questica).
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
