Position Description The purpose of this position is to provide clinical and clerical support to the school-based clinics and to ensure customer service needs are met in a professional manner. This position also assists the Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician’s Assistant (PA), MD, Nutritionist (RD), Health Educator (HE), and mental health staff with client (customer) care as needed. Required Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Completion of Medical Assisting program from an accredited school. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Two years of related experience. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Must have current medical assistant certification or registration (CMA, RMA or NCMA) within one year of SBC employment. Also requires completion of 60 credits every five years to ensure continuing certification. More health systems are requiring certification in order to accept coding of various procedures.
