Essential Duties

Health Education Specialists (Senior) have responsibility for developing, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating community public health education programs including staff education, professional consultation, community organization, public information, and individual and group teaching related to health and control of disease; coordinate programs with County departments and outside agencies, groups and individuals. Health Education Specialists (Senior) are expected to use considerable independent judgment and discretion in performance of duties. Incumbents may function as a project lead.

The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience: Two years of full time, paid experience, in health education/promotion activities.

Education/Training: A Master’s degree is required from an accredited college or university, in public health, health education or a related field.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS

To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions.
