Several full-time positions available with the Parks & Recreation Department, Natural Resources Division located at 6901 Elmwood Ave
Salary Range: $20.10-$30.64/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Performs operation of light and heavy construction equipment.
- Operates such equipment as front loaders, tractors and attachments, skid-steer and attachments, deforester, swing-arm mowers, zero-turn mowers, batwing mowers, backhoe, snow plow, and related equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Participates in snow removal activities.
- Operates equipment in mowing/trimming grass and shrubs.
- Operates chain and hand saws in cutting up tree branches and limbs.
- Participates in routine grounds keeping activities such as mulching, leaf removal and litter/trash/illegal dump removal.
- Performs related duties as required.
- May be required to possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period.
Qualifications
REQUIRES 6 months of experience in the operation of trucks and other specialized automotive equipment. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. May be required to possess a valid Missouri Class A, B or C CDL prior to the end of probationary period. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
