Job Description

THE POSITION

The City of Ventura's Information Technology Department is searching for a dynamic Information Technology Customer Support Supervisor to join our Information Technology team.

As the Information Technology Customer Support Supervisor, you'll spearhead the implementation of our Customer Support Services strategy, taking charge of the IT Help Desk to deliver world-class desktop support to our City staff.

Reporting directly to the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team of technical staff committed to providing top-notch end-user support services across our organization. Your responsibilities will include ensuring Service Level Agreement expectations are met, establishing metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the Customer Support team.

  • Week of May 27, 2024 - Department Selection Interviews are tentatively scheduled for this date. Qualifying candidates will be notified by email if they are invited to the panel interview process.
  • June 10, 2024 - Candidates will be notified of the outcome of the interview by this date.

The City offers a total compensation package that includes both a generous salary and other benefits!

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO QUALIFY

A combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by two years of college level coursework in information/computer science or a related field OR, completion of a specialized training program in information/computer science are required, including
three years of increasingly responsible information services and computer support experience equivalent to an Information Technology Customer Support Technician II with the City of Ventura.

Supervisory/lead worker experience is highly desirable.

Certificate: Possession of relevant and current information services industry recognized certifications, such as ITIL, Comp TIA A+, COMP TIA Network+, Comp TIA Security+, MCSA, and MCSE are desirable.

License: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver license.
