SALARY: $52,000 - $55,000

This important work creates greater opportunities for all Missourians to prosper! At this time the MOS Division is seeking a Senior Economic Development Specialist to join their team. This individual will conduct due diligence, as well as monitor MOS training projects for Customized Training, New Jobs Training, Job Retention Training, Upskill Credential Training, and the Intern and Apprentice Recruitment Act Program.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform due diligence checks on applicants participating in MOS programs
  • Document data and compile reports on information gathered from monitoring visits
  • Support MOS Program Coordinators in the processing of program applications
  • Promote quality control efforts in the administration of MOS programs
  • In-state travel as needed to support MOS Program Coordinators in annual Local Education Agency program record monitoring
  • Analyze business processes and assist division and program leadership with developing standardized forms and procedures
  • Represent MOS at various economic development meetings and conferences

All You Need for Success:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Seven or more years of professional experience with demonstrated knowledge in the business practices and principles of Economic Development. This can be obtained through a combination of work experience and completion of a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Community Development, Economic Development, or a closely related field.
  • Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience in analyzing and preparing documents, reports and requirements to support system design
  • Experience and knowledge of DED's current systems is desired but not required
  • Ability to quickly have an overall understanding of the business systems MOS currently uses
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Ability to function and adjust in a fast-paced and busy environment
  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing complex data
  • Skilled in analyzing and organizing technical data
  • Proficient knowledge in Excel
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
