The Chief will lead by example promoting diversity, equity and inclusion practices that will benefit the Police Department and the community. The Police Chief must be a leader with business acumen and a desire for the advancement of the Department and the City as a whole. A strong collaborator who is open, honest, and receptive to feedback will be valued. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years command level managerial experience in a local governmental law enforcement agency and at least ten years in law enforcement work. A Baccalaureate degree in an appropriately related field is required. A Graduate degree and graduation from FBI-NA or Command College is highly desirable. All candidates must possess or be eligible for POST Advanced and Management certifications. The attainment of POST Executive Development certificate within two years of appointment is required. The annual salary range for the Police Chief is $207,009.00 - $251,620.80; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
