Job Location: This position will be located at Central Office and Fulton State Hospital. Minimum Qualifications Austin Water Electrician I Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in the electrical trade including electrician helper and licensed apprentice which must be in commercial/industrial installations. Experience may be acquired before and/or after licensing. Licenses and Certifications Required: Must possess a State of Texas Electrical Apprentice License. Valid Texas Class C Driver License. Austin Water Electrician II Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus one year of experience in all phases of work as a journeyman-level electrician installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems such as medium voltage distribution equipment, motor controls, facility building equipment, and lighting systems at a water or wastewater treatment plant or industrial production plant. OR Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus two years of experience in all phases of work as a journeyman-level electrician, including directly related utility electrical experience performing installations and diagnostics experience working at voltages of 1000V-15kV installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electrical machinery and equipment in permanent building systems, power generation plants, water or wastewater treatment plants, or industrial plants. Experience must include commercial or industrial wiring, installing and repairing electrical conduit systems, and troubleshooting industrial motor control systems, mechanical motor starters, soft starters, and variable frequency drives. Licenses and Certifications Required: Must possess a valid State of Texas Electrical Journeyman License. A valid Texas Class C Driver License. Since then, CSUSB has continued to move forward on the development of a Workforce and Apprenticeship Tech Hub in support of the IECI mission. The Workforce Development Center, in partnership with the Cybersecurity Center at CSUSB will provide the venue for community college faculty, university faculty, students, and employers to collaborate in a security operations training and workspace to include research spaces, advanced broadband, specialized equipment for a training Cybersecurity Operations Center, improved technology, and flexible spaces for career preparation. This project will provide a rapid increase in direct job placement in well-paying “anchor” careers while providing students the ability to “earn while they learn.” This will both alleviate the need to work in menial employment but increase opportunities for meaningful employment while in school. While the Workforce and Apprenticeship Hub initially serves careers in the cybersecurity and supply chain fields, the mechanism built will accommodate future workforce needs. The partners in this project support significant collaboration and an educational pipeline for career jobs from high school, community college, and university, as well as retraining efforts which benefit the economic development of the entire region. The Workforce Development Center, in partnership with the Cybersecurity Center at CSUSB will provide the venue for community college faculty, university faculty, students, and employers to collaborate in a security operations training and workspace to include research spaces, advanced broadband, specialized equipment for a training Cybersecurity Operations Center, improved technology, and flexible spaces for career preparation. This project will provide a rapid increase in direct job placement in well-paying “anchor” careers while providing students the ability to “earn while they learn.” This will both alleviate the need to work in menial employment but increase opportunities for meaningful employment while in school. While the Workforce and Apprenticeship Hub initially serves careers in the cybersecurity and supply chain fields, the mechanism built will accommodate future workforce needs. The partners in this project support significant collaboration and an educational pipeline for career jobs from high school, community college, and university, as well as retraining efforts which benefit the economic development of the entire region. The IECI Program Coordinator supports the objectives of the IECI community development project, cybersecurity apprenticeship programs, and the Workforce Development Center with record keeping, program promotion/marketing, activity/event scheduling, and student customer service support toward apprenticeships and employment.
