This position works collaboratively with the Academic Affairs team on the review and analysis of applications from individuals and organizations seeking approval to offer postsecondary education in Missouri. This role reviews submitted documents and analyzes the extent to which applicant schools meet minimum standards for certification and for the approval of new programs and program changes; such reviews may include in-person site visits and student surveys. This position will work with public, independent, and certified proprietary schools to verify continuing compliance with policies related to the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) as well as assisting institutions to meet regulations on distance education and professional licensure programs.

What you'll do:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation after successful onboarding.
  • Develop familiarity with Missouri statutes, rules, and policies to become the subject matter expert for institutions and students
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including federal and state regulators, institutional leaders, faculty, staff, and students to continuously improve certification policies and processes
  • Participate in project teams made up of internal and external members
  • Work with certified schools on the collection and verification of student enrollment data
  • Work with minimal direction to review and analyze electronic documents regarding postsecondary education and training
  • Perform other related work as assigned

  • Utilize applications such as Zoom, WebEx, or Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meet deadlines and demonstrate regular, reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in public administration, education leadership, postsecondary education, or closely related area
  • Preferred experience in the administration or regulation of career and trade schools
