Occupational Data Collector

DLS / Research & Analysis Unit

Annual Salary Range: $31,200 - $33,900

The Department of Labor is looking for a qualified applicant to join our Research & Analysis Unit as a Research Data Assistant. In this role, you will be part of a small but effective team that excels in data collection and customer communications among other skills. This role is a great way to learn more about Missouri and our partnership with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, how we collect valid data, and how this data is used to educate Missouri Citizens.

What you will do:
  • Consult with Missouri citizens to identify survey needs and specific requirements to complete the
    surveys and update data profiles.
  • Conduct surveys and collect data for SOII or CFOI Monitor and evaluate survey progress and
    performance.
  • Conduct research to gather information about survey participants.
  • Analyze data from surveys, old records, or past surveys.
  • Collaborate with Bureau of Labor Standards to assist with implementation and evaluation of surveys.
  • Provide Division assistance with answering calls in a division queue.
  • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or
    explain information, address complaints, and provide assistance.
All you need for success:

Qualifications
  • 4 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of study
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Desired Attributes
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs
    assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer information systems.
  • Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to complete assignments within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures from general instructions.
