Job Description

Several limited-term merit positions available with the Health Department, Rebuild KC Health Division. Limited-term merit lasts until 12/2025 and Several full-time positions available with the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention (Aim4Peace) Division located at 2400 Troost
Salary Range: $17.35-$26.47/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Aim4Peace: Non-traditional hours Tuesday-Thursday 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 3:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (on-demand in emergency situations)

As a condition of employment with the City of Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, all new employees will be required to submit or provide documentation of receiving an influenza (Flu) Vaccination.


Responsibilities

Rebuild KC Health Division:
  • Identifies and builds collaborations with key community partners,
  • Recruits partners through door-to-door canvassing, personal visits, social service agency outreach, house meetings and phoning.
  • Plans and coordinates outreach events and organize/facilitate meetings in order to build an effective, ongoing involvement with grassroots community leaders.
  • Coordinates the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of community classroom training courses.
  • Works with confidential information/data that will be sensitive, highly confidential and require adherence to strict program, local, state, and federal confidentiality policies.
  • Collects and maintains documentation of all contacts and progress with participants, patients, and visitors.
  • Maintains and monitors case data on program participants.
  • Attends trainings and presentations as required.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Aim4Peace:

Qualifications

REQUIRES high school graduation. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
