Job Description and Duties As a member of the Director's Office of Equity, Sustainability and Tribal Affairs (ESTA), under the direction of the Race and Equity Program Manager, this position serves to advance racial equity, social and climate justice, by coordinating the implementation of the Caltrans Race and Equity Action Plan and implementation of Caltrans Strategic Plan equity related actions. This position will develop and strengthen internal partnerships and foster collaborative approaches to implementing and achieving equity goals. The incumbent will be responsible to lead, coordinate, and report on efforts related to both plans. The incumbent is accountable for assessing needs, helping teams develop work plans, identifying and prioritizing new actions, and elevating challenges to ESTA leadership. The incumbent will build relationships and work closely with staff and leadership from Caltrans Districts and Headquarters Divisions responsible for various actions and functions that are integral to achieving necessary policy, process, and program changes. Job Characteristics ***OPEN & PROMOTIONAL JOB ANNOUNCEMENT*** ASSOCIATE/SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER The City of Concord's Public Works Department is recruiting for two full time Associate/Senior Transportation Engineers. The positions may be filled at either the Associate Transportation Engineer or Senior Transportation Engineer level, depending on experience and education. What you will be doing: Associate and Senior Transportation Engineers supervise major, large scale transportation engineering projects for the Transportation Division. Incumbents will be responsible to manage and prepare various transportation studies and programs, review new development applications and assess impacts on the transportation system and make recommendations on signal timing and other operational improvements for the City's 150 signalized intersections. In addition to the work specific to traffic operations and safety, Associate and Senior Transportation Engineers will keep apprised of new transportation technology, prepare grant applications and make public presentations on traffic and transportation issues to citizens, City Council and the Planning Commission. Job Duties What You Will Be Doing: Compliance and Reporting : Ensure that all projects and initiatives comply with the deliverable and reporting requirements set forth in the Flood Control District's annual budget resolution and the interlocal agreement between King County and the Flood Control District. Prepare, review, and submit reports and documentation as required to maintain transparency and accountability. Liaison and Coordination : In coordination with the Capital Section’s Project Control Officer , s erve as a point of contact between the River and Floodplain Management Section and the Capital Section's River and Floodplain Capital Unit. Facilitate meetings, discussions, and information sharing to ensure coordination and alignment on budget, goals, objectives , and deliverables for the delivery of services and capital projects being designed and constructed on behalf of the Flood Control District. Strategic Planning : Contribute to the development and implementation of Division strategic initiatives for flood risk reduction and habitat restoration plans that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and impact with an awareness of Flood Control District's goals and objectives . Supplemental Information Working Conditions: Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typically 2-4 times per month.
