The Zoo Curator is a key member of the OC Zoo team and is entrusted and relied upon for staff development and animal health and welfare. GENERAL PURPOSE: Provides quality instruction of arts/culture/history for cultural classes, camps, tours, programs and activities for the benefit of all ages of participants. The days of work and hours will vary with each program. This position will report to the Curator of Education. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Instruct participants in class, camp or program; develop and implement age appropriate lesson plans; be prepared to lead tours of art/history or other exhibits, as the exhibit may pertain to the lesson or program; participate in required training; inspect classroom/program environment and equipment to ensure safety, handle emergencies according to established procedures; complete administrative tasks such as skill assessment of participants, attendance sheets, class or program evaluations, timesheets; prepare and submit class descriptions for brochures and other promotional materials; assess supplies and provide supply lists; and provide make-up sessions as required. GENERAL PURPOSE: Provides quality instruction of arts/culture/history for cultural classes, camps, tours, programs and activities for the benefit of all ages of participants. The days of work and hours will vary with each program. This position will report to the Curator of Education.
