CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM The Port of Long Beach Career Exploration Program provides college Freshman and Sophomore students an opportunity to embark on 12-week paid internship journey to explore areas of career interest within the Port. Interns will have the ability to rotate to a different division every 4-6 weeks to foster a well-rounded experience. Interns in the Career Exploration Program can expect: A full and realistic view of the world-at-work that integrates academic preparation with practical application and skill development in the workplace; An opportunity to network with professionals in one's field of interest and a chance to explore career options and develop transferable skills; and The opportunity to earn a reasonable wage while obtaining valuable work experience.
