Unit Manager Lubbock 37323BR Position Description Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff. Major/Essential Functions Manage brass ring for the Department of Pediatrics and act as the POC for department on hiring matters. Recommend staff applicants for interviews based on previous work history and skills to determine if the applicant would be appropriate for departmental needs. Maintain and update Dept, HSC, and TTPL websites. Assist the Department Chair as needed. Represents the department and coordinates faculty recruitment to include itineraries, travel arrangements, POC communication with the central faculty department, candidates, and interviewers. Represents the department and coordinates faculty onboarding functions to include enrollment, credentialing, human resources orientations, and training as well as departmental orientation and training. Assists the staff to understand and support organizational policies and objectives. Assist the department Administrator by enforcing and developing office operations and procedures. Represent Pediatrics in central department meetings and responsible for communication to pediatric clinical and business operations as needed. Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of record filing system for the department. Oversee all necessary duties for travel and represent Pediatrics to travel department. Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.
